| I have been caring for cats since 1985. From 1985 to 2002. I worked as
a volunteer with a UK cat rescue group and for part of that time ran the
local branch. I have fostered thousands of cats in this time dealing with
all temperaments from feral to family cats, orphaned 1 day old kittens to
elderly unwanted cats (23 years was the oldest). References from UK vets are
available for inspection at the cattery. From 2002 to 2003 I ran a pet
minding business in the UK. In 2003 we migrated to Australia and we brought
our 5 cats with us. I believe in not changing the cats diet and so will provide the same
food that you give them. Please provide details of your cat's diet (food and
frequency) on the booking form. Please note I cannot purchase prescription
diets.
As all cats are individuals, I have designed the daily routine to allow time
for each cat, I want them to feel comfortable and calm. Any
toys, brushes, etc that your cat is used to can help make them feel at home so
do please bring them in with the cat. I also have a range of toys for them to
play with and the farm animals provide visual entertainment for the cats.
Each pen has power for the heated pads, is equipped with a heated pad, bed, scratching
post, litter tray, scoop, dust pan and brush. (heating included in standard
price).
There is a food preparation area with hot & cold water, a dishwasher, fridge
and microwave. In a completely separate outdoor utility area there
is a washing machine, dryer and sink where the litter trays are cleaned.
Although we take great care to ensure that each cat who comes to board is
well and healthy, occasionally a cat may come in with an illness that is not
apparent at the time. If this happens we have the facility to isolate the
cat where there is no risk of the disease spreading to the other
residents and where I can watch the cat carefully, of course I will take the
cat to a local veterinarian as soon as possible.
The safety of your cats has been a major contributor to the design of the
cattery, with a triple door system in place. All external doors to the Cattery
are locked at all times and the premises has an intruder detector which operates
in the cattery and the house.
My husband and I live on site, our house is no more than 20 meters from the cattery.
