Will my cat have to share a pen with other people's cats. |
| |
No, under no circumstances will we require your cat to share with
other people's cats. |
 |
My cats fight, can they have separate pens |
| |
Yes subject to availability, early booking is highly recommended. |
 |
Does my cat need to be innoculated |
| |
Yes, we require proof of
innoculation to F4 level (but will accept F3) which will cover the
duration of your cats boarding. |
 |
What are conditions like in the cattery during winter and summer |
| |
The cattery is well insulated against the cold and each pen is
equipped with a heated pad for the cats to sleep on. The insulation also
helps in the summer to keep the building cool. The cattery is well
ventilated. |
 |
Is the cattery situated in bush, is there any risk of bush fire. |
| |
The cattery is in an area of the Megalong that is mostly
farm land used for grazing stock, it is situated in a cleared pasture and so the fire risk is
very small. |
 |
Is there a play or exercise area |
| |
Yes, there are several. See About the
Cattery for more details |
 |
My cat does not like other cats, can he still use the play area and
get exercise. |
| |
Yes, even more so now with the increased play areas, your cat will be allowed to use the play area by himself at
certain times of the day. Also every effort will be made to upgrade your
cat to a larger pen. |
 |
I do not want my cat to mix with the other cats, is this possible |
| |
Yes that is not a problem, your cat will be kept within it's pen. |
 |
My cat is a house cat and does not have flea's, do I still need to
treat him prior to arrival. |
|
|
Yes this is mandatory. Even though the cattery is maintained to
a very high standard the odd flea egg may be waiting for an unprotected
home, better not to expose your cat to this risk however small. |
 |
What will my cat be fed |
|
|
We do not change your cat's diet,
see the diet section in information |
 |
Do you groom |
|
|
Yes, I prefer to use the equipment (comb or brush) that the cat is
used to so please bring this along with you and please label it. |
 |
Can I bring my own bedding |
|
|
Yes but please ensure that it is clean and it must be compatible with the
heated pads, call if not sure. |
 |
How can I get to you |
| |
You can drive here, see
location map, the last 5 kilometres is gravel road which can
sometimes be rough. We can meet you at the Tea Rooms (before the start
of the gravel road) if
you prefer. We run a collection and
delivery service. |
 |
My cat requires regular medication, is this a problem |
| |
Not in general, I am happy to administer pills as long as you
provide them but there may be an extra cost, see charges. |
 |
Can I inspect the cattery |
| |
Yes absolutely! we encourage new clients to come and see the
premises and discuss any special needs with me prior to booking. |
 |
What are your opening hours |
| |
See the information section |
 |
How secure is the cattery |
| |
All external windows that can be opened are fitted with security
grills. All external doors are locked at all times. There is a triple door
system to avoid cats escaping. You enter the cattery into a reception
area which is a cat free zone, only when the external door is closed and
locked will the internal door be opened. In addition each section of the
cattery has doors which are lockable. |
